Fall Mission Messenger

Here are some ministry updates from the fall edition of our Mission Messenger newsletter. To view our complete newsletter, download the PDF here: Mission Messenger Fall 2025.

Fall ministry update

As we see many things change around us, we are reminded that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8). This truth encourages us to remain steadfast in our commitment to serve the Lord as we set our mind on things above (Colossians 3) to give us a proper perspective on our work on earth. We are encouraged by your prayers and support as we carry on this ministry daily.

Men's Ministry

At the end of July, Little Caesars Love Kitchen joined us to provide pizza for supper. We are thankful for all groups who provide and serve meals. There are plenty of opportunities to join us—please contact us if you are interested in getting involved in hands-on ministry!

The number of men turning to us in a time of need has remained steady, as we continue providing shelter, transitional housing, meals, and personal care every day.

Camp Roberts

We are thankful for another summer of ministry at Camp Roberts. We were able to hire additional staff this year to help with maintenance and transportation. Chapel time was a highlight of the summer, and at one point one of the campers told a counselor that she didn't want chapel to end. Children also enjoyed times of prayer and singing, crafts, nature hikes, games, swimming, and other activities.

While visiting a store this summer, our camp director, Amber, had an encouraging interaction with a cashier. He noticed her Camp Roberts shirt and hat and said, "You must work there." He said that he attended camp as a child, and the best memories of his life were made at Camp Roberts. He went on to say "You're doing the Lord's work. Keep it up! God bless you!" He has a young child who may attend camp in the future. He was thankful that camp is still taking place—and we are encouraged to hear about the impact this ministry has had over the years.

Our after school program has gotten underway, and this year we are adding a teen discipleship program. Please keep the Camp Roberts ministry in your prayers!

Van driver wanted

Due to increased interest in our after school program, we are looking for a van driver to join us weekly on Tuesday afternoon/evening. This is available as a volunteer or paid position. Drivers must complete a background check and must be approved by our insurance provider. We operate 12 and 15 passenger vans. No CDL is required. We may also have need of additional drivers or substitute drivers for next summer. Please contact us if you are interested in joining us!

Banquet upcoming

You are invited to our 119th Anniversary Banquet featuring Greater Vision on Friday, October 31, 2025, 6:30 P.M. at UNOH Event Center. This is an excellent opportunity to introduce others to the work of the Mission, so please consider inviting friends, neighbors, or coworkers.

General admission tickets are free; sponsored tables are available for $300. You may request tickets at limamission.org/banquet, by mail, or by calling 419-224-6961. If you are planning to attend but have not yet requested tickets, please contact us soon! We cannot guarantee ticket availability closer to the event. We hope to see you there!
