December ministry update

Nearly everyone has been affected in some way by the events of this year. Here at the Mission, we've been taking extra precautions since early March, but we can't stop what we're doing. Our daily ministry to the poor and homeless has continued throughout the year.

Although we have made some adjustments to the way we serve, we continue providing meals and shelter every day. We've been well stocked with supplies, and there has been a small increase in financial support this year to date.

Thank you so much for remembering the Mission and for your generous support. We appreciate your continued prayers for our staff and those we serve every day.

CARES Act and your contributions

As part of the CARES Act that was signed into law earlier this year, individuals who do not normally itemize deductions may deduct up to $300 in charitable cash contributions. This universal charitable deduction is an above-the-line deduction and is deducted from the taxpayer’s income prior to the calculation of adjusted gross income. This deduction is in addition to the standard deduction.

Lima Rescue Mission is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and your contributions are tax deductible as allowed by law. We are also accredited by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). As a member, we must faithfully demonstrate compliance with established standards for financial accountability, transparency, ethical fundraising and sound board governance.

The Mission is a faith-based organization. All funding comes directly from individuals, businesses, churches and other organizations who want to be involved in helping the homeless and less fortunate in our community. We do not receive any funding from the government or other agencies. Your support allows this ministry to continue, and we are thankful for faithful friends who join us in caring for the needs of others.
